DISCOVER HOW TO USE ARGAN OIL TO FIGHT ACNE

Our guess is you have already heard about Argan oil/Moroccan oil since a lot of beauty and hair products use it as the “magic” ingredient in their formulas and they are absolutely right to do so! It’s just that there is so much more to its “magic” then just marketing and we’re here to tell you all about it and encourage you to make pure Argan Oil an essential of your beauty routine!

Today, we’re breaking down everything you need to know about Argan oil, and serving up our favorite Argan oil mask to help you with acne and other skin issues.

Not all oils are created equal

First, not all oils are good for your skin type. Different oils have different weight, formulation and absorption rate, making some oils amazing for some skin issues while others are better used for a different skin type. Take coconut oil and avocado oil for instance, while they act as amazingly rich moisturizers for dry skin, they may clog the pores of acne-prone skin. So, it is important to understand your skin type and the composition of the oil you use on it to find your perfect match.

Argan oil is a versatile oil that falls in the middle of the spectrum—it’s not too heavy, not too light—making it perfect for all skin types. It’s very rich in omega fatty acids, vitamin E, and linoleic acids, all of which work to moisturize your skin, soften dry patches, AND balance sebum production while actively reducing acne. To put it short, Argan oil is a must nourishing and protective superfood for your skin.

The vitamin E in Argan oil acts as a powerful anti-inflammatory for red, reactive skin but it also balances out your sebum production so you’ll be experiencing less and less breakouts and irritations over time. And that’s not all! The antioxidants naturally found in Argan oil have a magic reputation for helping soothe eczema, fade scars and protects your skin against sun damage. Now, do you get why everyone loves it? Yes, we do too!

 It won’t clog your pores!

Anything your skin rejects technically can clog your pores but pure organic Argan oil is definitely on the low-risk side. In fact, Argan oil has a zero rate on the comedogenicity scale which is perfect for your skin especially if you suffer from acne. It is relatively lightweight, it sinks in and absorbs quickly, so you’ll be left with a subtle, glowy sheen, rather than an oil slick.

If you use it on a regular basis, and we encourage you to do so since it is very versatile, you’ll enjoy hydrating, nourishing, softening, acne-fighting, scar-fading, lightweight, non-clogging miracle effects in one single bottle.

Our favourite argan oil face mask recipe

  •  1 Teaspoon of lemon juice
  • 1 Tablespoon of avocado
  • 1 Tablespoon of honey
  • 1 Teaspoon of Argan oil

Take a bowl, add the lemon juice, avocado honey and argan oil. Mix well and voila!

Leave it on for 15-20 minutes, and rinse off with warm water. You’re done! Doing this once a week can help your face stay younger, smoother, and will help you keep your acne under control.

A word of caution: Don’t overdo masks in general. 20 minutes, once a week is perfect, overuse is never ok. Balance, my friends, always and for everything! Namaste!
